Fire District Open House

The Macedonia Fire Department/Sagamore Hills Township Division 2220 Open House that was held Saturday, October 8th was a huge success! Many residents attended, and were very impressed with the renovations. Sagamore Hills Township Trustee David DePasquale spoke and thanked all that volunteered their time and labor with the renovations to help meet the transition deadline. He also thanked Macedonia Council President Nick Molnar and Macedonia Council Members Janet Tulley and Kevin Bilkie for their support. Summit County Council member Sandra Kurtz was in attendance and spoke supporting the Fire District. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place as well as the “pushing in of the fire engine to the garage” which is common practice with the opening of a new fire district. Many children enjoyed an inflatable “fire truck” slide and visiting with Sparky, while others admired the living quarters and all the equipment. All enjoyed some great hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. A good time was had by all!
