First Energy Transmission Forestry Work

First Energy’s transmission forestry cycle work is completed on all transmission circuits every five years. The work typically consists of customer notification, followed by marking the trees, then the tree trimming and removal work is performed, followed by the spraying.

Asplundh is the the contractor who will be performing the work. They anticipate marking the trees sometime between January 25th and February 12th. The actual work is estimated to begin in March and the herbicide application would be done sometime in the month of June.

This circuit is forty-four miles long and Asplundh is starting in Avon and heading east. First Energy will notify us as to which week Asplundh will be in Sagamore Hills at which time we will post that information on our website.

At this point we are not certain if the hike and bike trail will need to be closed to perform the work. First Energy will notify the Township if the trail will be impacted.

The maps below show the areas within Sagamore Hills where the cycle work will be performed.
